Genuine leather vs Faux leather

Genuine leather vs Faux leather

The main difference between the faux leather and genuine leather is genuine leather is made from animal hides such as buffalo or cattle.

Faux leather is made from polyvinyl chloride or polyurethane and is not natural

Genuine leather:

- Does not have a perfectly smooth surface as each animal hide has its unique texture and imperfections such as natural scratches, wrinkles and creases

-Smells like leather

-Has inconsistent pores

-When burnt (for 5 seconds) , genuine leather will only char slightly and smell like burnt hair, Faux leather will catch flame and smell like burning plastic

-Has rough edges

-Will absorb water in a small amount of time and not simply puddle up on top
